Why ants are so hard to control

Step 1: Find the trail

Ants follow scent trails between the nest and a food or water source. Before you do anything, watch where they're coming from and going to. The trail is a motorway — follow it to find the nest entry (often a gap in a wall, a window frame, or a pot plant) and the thing they're after (sugar, crumbs, a dripping tap).

Step 2: Remove the attraction
