What are these cable ties used for?

These UV-stabilised cable ties are for hanging your GotchaPest Wasp Trap, Fly Trap and Outdoor Fruit Fly Trap. Thread one through the trap's hanging slot, loop it around a tree branch, fence post, trellis or beam, pull snug and snip off the excess.

How many ties are in a pack?

Each pack contains 5 UV-stabilised cable ties — enough to set up several traps at once, or to keep spares on hand for relocating or re-hanging your trap through the seasons.

Can I just use any cable tie from the hardware store?

We recommend using only these GotchaPest approved UV cable ties. Generic ties can go brittle and snap in the harsh NZ sun, dropping your trap and voiding your warranty. Ours are rated for full UV exposure and sized to fit the trap's hanging slot exactly.

Are these cable ties safe around kids and pets?

Cable ties are not a toy and can be a strangulation or entanglement hazard. Keep spare ties and packaging out of reach of children, install traps well above a child's reach, and always cut the excess tail off flush so no sharp end is left poking out. Supervise children and pets around any hanging trap, and never let kids play with the ties.

How long do they last outdoors?

They're UV-stabilised for full New Zealand sun exposure and are weatherproof. Depending on how much direct sun the spot gets, expect them to last a full season or more — replace a tie if it looks brittle, cracked or faded, or after a couple of seasons as a matter of course.

How do I install and remove a tie?

To install: thread the tie through the trap's hanging slot, loop it around your branch or post, pull the tail through the locking head until snug, then snip off the excess. To remove: simply cut the tie with scissors or snips and re-hang with a fresh one from the pack.

Are GotchaPest traps reusable?

Yes. All GotchaPest traps are designed to be reused season after season. The screw-on traps attach to standard plastic bottles, and the indoor fruit fly trap is a purpose-built standalone unit. Simply empty, clean, and refill with fresh bait.

Do the traps use chemicals?

The fruit fly traps are designed for chemical-free control using everyday household ingredients. The fly and wasp traps use natural bait attraction. No harsh chemicals or disposable chemical devices are required.
